After a series of disappointing consultations from contractors all recommending expensive wall systems, this client reached out for some ideas on how they could transform their sloping backyard on a budget. Rather than an expensive 6’ high wall, we could simply grade the backyard and create a variety of different spaces at a fraction of the cost. We used the concept of a folded piece of paper, or a folded plane, as a starting point and quickly arrived at a solution that was cost-effective, beautiful, and functional. String lights and a custom lighting plan create a warm, relaxing atmosphere for parties and an environment to decompress after a long day.
