About Me
Scott Getz, PLA
Scott Getz received his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia. Raised in Chicago, Scott studied Horticulture at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and received a Certificate of Practical Horticulture from Royal Horticultural Society, Wisley.
An early affinity of gardening led to working in gardens like Chicago Botanic Gardens, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and Garden In The Woods prior to entering the field of Landscape Architecture. Professionally, he has worked at the internationally recognized offices of Topotek1, Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten, and Tom Leader Studio in Berlin and California.
Scott is a Registered Landscape Architect in North Carolina.
Miles, Chief Barketing Officer
Miles is an adventurous Silky Terrier mix eager to go on all the big walkies. He is a passionate about feline free environments and adeptly sniffs out every rodent on site. He was adopted in Berkeley, California in 2018 and has since travelled across the country and lived in Berlin to soak up the party scene for awhile. He’s adept in every scenario and very friendly.
Suri, Cuddle Coordinator
Our newest addition, Suri works at the intersection of food and the ground. Suri takes her guard dog responsibilities very seriously and vocalizes her opinions readily. She approaches projects with a mixture of passion and sass and welcomes all the snuggles.
What Matters
I design landscapes with a recognition of the interconnection between people and nature. Working on a basis of trust, I elevate creativity and ingenuity throughout the design process while designing for the long term resilience of your landscape. At every scale, I implement a variety methods in the design process including drawings, 3D models, and even physical models to ensure we all understand the final results of the design and can make educated decisions. Also, we have fun!
Throughout the process, your life outside is a primary consideration. I consider factors like your thermal comfort, viewsheds, scale of spaces for their purpose, and many other external factors that impact your life outside.
Most importantly, I diligently strive to make landscapes tailored to your budget. From the onset of the project, your budget will be of paramount importance to the decisions we make together. The landscapes I deliver my clients are frequently more valuable than what they cost on them generating what I like to call “Real Value.”
Let’s Design.
